Veyance Technologies critical production systems are run on SAP and were previously deployed on physical hardware in a traditional outsourcing arrangement. Veyance made the decision to move their systems to the cloud to gain the efficiencies and dynamic advantages that a cloud solution could offer. Veyance selected their cloud provider to meet their sophisticated enterprise requirements including true consumption based pricing, guaranteed compute resources, data protection and industry leading SLAs. The xStream platform met all of these requirements and, in addition, will provide Veyance with the necessary resources to ensure comprehensive disaster recovery and data protection.
Virtustream offers an elastic pay-as-you-go approach that will enable Veyance Technologies to cut IT costs substantially and allow for the company to dynamically scale with their future expansion needs. Veyance will be moving their SAP R/3, SAP XI, TREX, Netweaver, ITS and WAS systems to the cloud as well as use the platform to enable an extensive global data centre and server consolidation initiative.
“Virtustream’s track record of deploying significant SAP production environments – while only charging for the infrastructure resources that are actually consumed – was a significant factor prompting us to consider and ultimately select their solution,” said John Hill, chief information officer at Veyance Technologies. “With the demand for our products increasing rapidly, xStream provides the performance, security and pricing we need for our day-to-day operations as well as the flexibility and elasticity to meet our expansion needs.”
The Virtustream xStream cloud platform delivers an innovative approach to private, virtual private and hybrid clouds, enabling customers to deploy mission-critical applications in the cloud. Powered by Virtustream µVMTM technology, xStream delivers enterprise-grade security and compliance, multi-tenant efficiency, application performance SLAs and consumption based charging for both legacy and web-scale mission-critical applications. xStream is particularly adept at delivering a hybrid cloud model that most enterprises require – allowing a combination of existing IT, on-site private clouds with off-site virtual private/public clouds. xStream allows them to adopt the cloud at their own pace, running their mission critical applications in the cloud while other applications can remain in a traditional hosted model or on-site. Enterprises can manage the entire solution with a single panel of glass.
“After successfully deploying numerous large-scale, complex SAP production environments to the cloud in the past, we are excited to do the same for Veyance,” said Rodney Rogers, chairman and chief executive officer of Virtustream. “With Veyance Technologies joining our customer base, enterprises will continue to recognise xStream as the leading enterprise solution for performance, security and cost-effectiveness in the cloud.”
