Nexsan appoints George Symons as Chief Strategy Officer

Nexsan has appointed George Symons as Chief Strategy Officer. A seasoned storage industry veteran, Symons will be responsible for developing the long-term corporate and market strategy for Nexsan as the company continues its growth trajectory, especially in the area of Hybrid Unified Storage.

“George brings a wealth of experience and strategic vision to Nexsan,” said Philip Black, CEO, Nexsan. “He will further strengthen our executive team by helping to align our product road map with customer requirements, enhancing strategic partnerships and analyzing market opportunities. His guidance and expertise will be an invaluable asset to us as we magnify our presence in the marketplace.”

Reporting to Black, Symons will be responsible for the company’s strategic planning, corporate direction on innovation and strategic partner relationships. Symons has held successive leadership positions in a number of innovative storage vendor organizations. Prior to joining Nexsan, he was Chief Strategy Officer at Solix Technologies. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer for X-IO, Chief Executive Officer for Evostor Inc., Chief Executive Officer for Yosemite Technologies, Chief Technology Officer, Information Management at EMC Corporation and Chief Technology Officer at Legato Systems, Inc.
