CommScope, Inc., is continuing with its vision to help data centre operators realise greater value within their physical infrastructure by introducing its Living Infrastructure philosophy in Europe during two upcoming Connect + Evolve Technology Forums.
The first CommScope technology forum will be September 28, 2011 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London, England, and the second on September 29, 2011 at the InnStyle Maarssen in Maarssen, The Netherlands.
CommScope’s Living Infrastructure is an approach to designing, deploying and evolving data centres that encompasses a comprehensive portfolio of structured cabling solutions and planning tools. These solutions and tools can help customers drive efficiency through flexibility in addressing unanticipated changes in network design and priorities.
“Data centres are critical to the IT operations of most organisations, playing a key role in storing and accessing information used to run the business,” said George Brooks, senior vice president, Data Centre business unit, CommScope. “Whether it is to operate an enterprise-owned or co-location data centre, CommScope can provide the infrastructure vital to support a network’s current and future requirements.”
Modifying or expanding a data centre presents a unique opportunity to design a network that maximises the best of today’s technology while providing a clear path to the future. The Living Infrastructure Design Guide for Data Centres is now available for download and can guide data centre personnel through the selection of pre-configured reference designs based on industry best practices.
“The ability to download the Design Guide is another benefit CommScope provides its customers,” Brooks added. “We understand there is a need for users to evaluate different network architectures and select appropriate cabling solutions with confidence, and CommScope provides that added bonus to them.”
CommScope will also demonstrate how its SYSTIMAX® iPatch® Intelligent Infrastructure Solution can enhance the energy saving potential of EnergyWise®, Cisco’s energy management architecture during both forums.
The SYSTIMAX iPatch solution provides IT managers improved network visibility, allowing them to track the physical locations of all networked devices, such as desktop and laptop computers, wireless access points, IP Phones and IP cameras, in real-time. As the IT industry strives to reduce its carbon footprint, the integration of iPatch location information and EnergyWise power management capabilities can further reduce energy consumption, while also improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
